A Grace Perspective on Neurodiversity

Did you know that neurodiversity celebrates the unique ways our brains work?

It's a reminder that diversity doesn't stop at what we see; it includes how we think, feel, and experience the world. Amazing, right?

Neurodiversity embraces differences in how people process information. Whether it's autism, ADHD, dyslexia, or any other unique way of thinking, it's not about better or worse, just different, and that's part of what makes humanity so beautifully complex.

But here's the thing: Society often focuses on what's "normal." Those who don't fit those boxes can feel misunderstood, overlooked, or judged.

That's where Grace comes in. Our identity isn't tied to labels or diagnoses. As children of God, our true identity is in Christ. Ephesians 2:10 reminds us, "We are God's handiwork created in Christ Jesus to do good works which God prepared in advance for us to do."

That includes every neurodivergent person. Yes, every single one!

Being part of the neurodiverse community, or loving someone who is, gives us a unique chance to reflect God's grace to the world by celebrating these differences.

We're saying God doesn't make mistakes!

So, whether you're neurodivergent or neurotypical, here is a graceful truth to carry with you: your worth isn't about how you compare with others.

It's about whom you belong to, and you belong to God.
